Paul Farbrace to take charge of England for T20 matches against Australia and India

England assistant Paul Farbrace will take over as head coach for the international Twenty20 matches against Australia and India.

Head coach Trevor Bayliss will use the time away to watch the England Lions in the Tri-series against India A and Windies A.

Bayliss will also watch some county cricket and attend the Royal London One-Day Cup final between Kent and Hampshire on June 30 at Lord's.

Bayliss will return as head coach for the one-day series against India in July. Farbrace has been assistant to Bayliss since 2015 and to Peter Moores for a year before that.

In that period, England's ability in limited-overs cricket has seen a big improvement with the team reaching the World T20 final in 2016.

Farbrace has experience of being in charge of a team having helped Sri Lanka to an Asia Cup and World T20 double in 2014.

Bayliss has said he will not seek to renew his contract in 2019 when it ends, and Farbrace has admitted to Sky Sports the chance of being in charge of his country would be "hard to say no to".
