Tom Westley says he intends to cement his place in the England side after his call-up for the third test against South Africa.

Tom Westley will earn his first England cap after being called up for the third Test against South Africa at the Kia Oval.

Essex batsman Westley will take the No 3 berth in England's order vacated by Yorkshire batsman Gary Ballance, who broke his finger in the second Test.

Middlesex's Dawid Malan has also been added to the squad and could play in his first Test match if England opt to use an extra batsman when play gets underway next Thursday.

Durham opener Keaton Jennings retains his place in the squad while Middlesex seam bowler Toby Roland-Jones, unused in the opening two Tests, retains his place meaning there could be as many as three Test debutants.

Durham bowler Mark Wood was passed fit after a heel injury but could be challenged by Roland-Jones, while spinner Liam Dawson also keeps his spot in a 13-man squad.

Jennings is set to keep his place at the top of the order despite only scoring 44 runs in four innings so far - he made only three of those in two attempts at the home of Nottinghamshire.
