Athers has been rummaging around in the archives to find footage of a youthful looking Gower jumping into a black cab at a hotel 50 yards away from Lord's to make his way to the ground for the start of a Test match.
The hotel doorman put the former England batsman's kit into the back of the cab before it made its way on the short journey to the Home of Cricket.
Much to the amusement of the commentary box, the cab pulls up outside the Grace Gates as Gower, wearing a rather "stylish" jacket, pays the fare before making his way into the ground.
But this time there was no doorman to carry the old-style cricket coffin which contained his kit for him!
