Lancashire head coach Ashley Giles has extended his contract at the county along with coaches Glen Chapple and Mark Chilton.

Former England spinner Giles enjoyed immediate success with the Red Rose following his appointment at the end of 2014, steering the side to promotion in the County Championship as well as winning the Natwest T20 Blast for the first time.

The new contracts keep the trio at Old Trafford until the end of the 2018 campaign.

Chapple, who is just 15 wickets short of 1,000 first-class scalps, and Chilton, who scored over 9,500 first-class runs before retiring, have played in over 500 first-class matches between them for Lancashire having come through the junior ranks.

Both also went on to captain the side and starred in Lancashire's County Championship title success in 2011.

Giles said: "I'm delighted that we've been offered the opportunity to commit our futures to the club until the end of 2018.
