Brooks and Jacks lead England to eight-wicket opening win

England made a winning start to their U19 World Cup campaign as fifties from captain Harry Brook and Will Jacks took them to a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Namibia.
Namibia started confidently after opting to bat first but once Tom Scriven broke an opening stand of 42, wickets began to fall at regular intervals.
Leg-spinner Luke Hollman took 3-41 while Scriven (2-30) and Brook (2-32) each claimed two wickets and Namibia limped to 196-9 from their 50 overs.
The England reply started brightly and they had moved to 55 when Tom Banton (21) was bowled by Gerhard Lottering, who removed Savin Perera (26) in his next over.
However, that brought Brook (59no off 48 balls) and Jacks (73no off 44 balls) together and rather than look to consolidate, they went on the offensive, both reaching quickfire half-centuries and got England across the line with 25.5 overs to spare.
However, victory was not enough to put England top of Group C after Bangladesh recorded their second win in as many games, beating Canada by 66 runs.
Faisal Jamkhandi took 5-48 for Canada but Towhid Hridoy's 122 from 126 balls helped Bangladesh to 264-8.
Captain Arslan Khan top-scored with 63 in Canada's chase but they fell well short of their victory target. Afif Hossain was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, with figures of 5-43.
