Ben Stokes hit a maiden ODI century, while Ben Duckett made 60 and Jake Ball took five-for on debut, as England beat Bangladesh in the first ODI in Dhaka.

Ball ended with fantastic figures of 5-51, while Adil Rashid also impressed, taking 4-49, as Bangladesh suffered a dramatic collapse late on, losing their last six wickets for 17 runs.

Imrul Kayes had struck 112, and Shakib Al Hasan had 79, seemingly sending the hosts to an opening win before devastating final spells from Ball and Rashid.

Bangladesh had been set 310 to win by England, with Stokes (101) sharing in a 153-run stand with debutant Duckett, helping England recover from being precariously placed at 63-3.

Stand-in skipper Jos Buttler then fired a 38-ball 63 at the back-end of the innings to lift England over 300, and then led his charges to victory in the field.
