Uncapped trio Ben Duckett, Haseeb Hameed, Zafar Ansari and veteran Gareth Batty have been named in England's Test squad for the tour of Bangladesh.
Jos Buttler captains the ODI squad in the absence of Eoin Morgan. The stand-in skipper will not be able to call upon Joe Root, who has been rested for the limited-overs leg of the tour, but the aggressive Duckett gets a chance to impress in white-ball cricket too.
Batty, 38, is recalled 11 years after his last Test for England and the Surrey skipper is one of four spinners in the squad along with his county team-mate Ansari, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid.
Opener Hameed, 19, started the season as a relative unknown, but broke into the Lancashire team and has plundered 1,129 runs in the Specsavers County Championship.
If he plays in the Test series he will become only the second teenager - after Ben Hollioake - to play for England since 1949, England's youngest ever opener, and the fifth youngest England debutant ever.
Duckett has scored nearly 1,400 runs in Division Two this season, averaging 60.82. His innings of 220 not out from 131 balls for the Lions against Sri Lanka A was one of the most memorable of the summer.
All-rounder Ansari was selected in the Test squad for the winter series with Pakistan in the UAE last year, but fractured his thumb and had to pull out.
Lancashire wicketkeeper-batsman Buttler returns to the Test squad for the first time since October 2015, as does fit-again Durham fast bowler Mark Wood.
National selector James Whitaker said: "Haseeb Hameed, for someone so young, has had an impressive season in the Specsavers County Championship with Lancashire. He has been a consistent performer and his four centuries, against some of the best bowling attacks in the country are testament to his outstanding temperament and attitude.
"Ben Duckett merits his call-up to both squads after showing his qualities as an attacking batsman, both in the county game and for the England Lions.
"Alongside Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, we are excited about the qualities that Zafar Ansari and Gareth Batty bring to the squad.
"Zafar has great potential both with bat and ball and Gareth's experience as one of the country's best slow bowlers and his ability to be effective in subcontinent conditions will be beneficial this winter."
Meanwhile, Hampshire captain James Vince is included in the ODI squad despite his disappointing international summer.
