Michael Atherton explains the significance and impact of the famous Lord's slope

The Lord's slope is often said to have an impact on batsmen and bowlers alike, but how exactly?

Glenn McGrath famously used it to his advantage in taking 26 wickets at an astonishing average of 11.50 in his three Tests at the home of cricket.

But there are also multiple examples of world-class bowlers who haven't managed a five-for or hundred at the famous old ground.

Shane Warne, Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar are three such names that failed to get their name up on the honours board.

So, ahead of day three of the third Investec Test between England and Sri Lanka, Michael Atherton and Ian Ward took a closer look at the Lord's slope and the challenges it presents.

They discuss which end suits which style of bowler, and what mode of dismissal is most common at either end.
