The pick of the action from Cape Town on day five of the second Test between South Africa and England

No team in Test history has scored over 600 first innings runs and lost. England came close on day five in Cape Town, slipping to 116-6.

Ben Stokes - double centurion in that first knock - and James Taylor fell in the space of one run in the afternoon session with England leading by only 118 and with more than 50 overs still left in the day.

Earlier in the day, England, 16-0 overnight, lost Alastair Cook tickling his second ball of the day from Kagiso Rabada down the leg-side to the wicket-keeper.

Test Cricket: The Verdict

Chris Morris took a blinding catch at third slip to remove Alex Hales, then clean bowled Joe Root with his first ball, while Nick Compton chipped Dane Piedt to midwicket as four wickets fell in the first session.

Jonny Bairstow (26no) and Moeen Ali (10no) steadied the ship after the double blow of Stokes and Taylor, rallying the team to 159-6 before bad light stepped in shortly after tea, and the Test ended in a draw.
