Ian Botham is preparing for a charity trek in South Africa. The Sky Sports commentator will take in eight major towns and cities.

Sir Ian Botham will aim to cover 110 miles in an eight-day walk around South Africa.

The walk marks the celebration of Beefy's 60th birthday and the 30th anniversary of his first walk from John O'Groats to Lands End in 1985.

That walk took 35 days and raised over £1m for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Now, 15 walks later, and with over £13m raised for charity, Beefy prepares for his next leg in South Africa.

Below is the full itinerary - click here for more information on the walk.

Day 1: Cape Town (December 10th)

Also See:

Table Bay Hotel - Llandudno Beach (16 miles)

The city of England's second Test against South Africa in their upcoming series. The two will clash on January 2, in what will hopefully be a classic like their last Cape Town meeting in 2010, when Graham Onions saved a Test for England for the second time in that series. Former England footballer John Barnes will be joining the walk on day one, along with the British High Commissioner in South Africa, with the day ending on Llandudno Beach, one of the Cape's most beautiful.

Day 2: Tokai (December 11th)

Hout Bay - Tokai Food Lovers Market (13 miles)

Named after the Tokai forest, on to which it borders, Tokai is a large residential suburb of Cape Town, situated on the foothills of the Constantiaberg Mountain. Of the multiple charities Beefy is supporting during this walk, Nazareth House Cape Town will be at the forefront on day two. The charity aims to provide a loving, stable and secure home environment for abandoned, neglected, disabled and orphaned children.

Day 3: Stellenbosch (December 12th)

Kayamandi Primary School - Flag Stone Winery (15 miles)

Wine country! Stellenbosch is a picturesque university town surrounded by mountains and world famous wine estates. The town centre offers beautifully preserved Cape Dutch and Victorian architecture, as well as the many enticing art galleries, craft shops, clothing boutiques and gift stores, while foodies may prefer indulging in mouth-watering cuisine and fine wines at one of the chic restaurants, buzzing bistros or beautiful vineyards.

Day 4: Port Elizabeth (December 13th)

Fig Tree Food Lovers Market - The BoardWalk Hotel (Nine miles)

Day four of the walk will focus on The Chipembere Rhino Foundation charity, which aims at supporting Rhino conservation and improving stringent anti-poaching efforts on the ground. Port Elizabeth is known as the Friendly City and the Windy City! It is the gateway to the Garden Route, as well as the Eastern Cape's game reserves and beaches. The walk down the coast finishes at the Boardwalk Hotel where the Nelson Mandela Film Festival will be finishing that same day.

Day 5: Durban (December 14th)

Springfield Park - Umhlanga Rocks (13 miles)

The scene of England's opening Test against South Africa later this month - the Boxing Day Test. England secured an emphatic innings-and-98-run win in their 2009/10 series off the back off nine wickets for Graeme Swann and 140 from Ian Bell - yes, the very same one England have dropped for the upcoming tour. The swimming and surfing in Durban is rated the best of any major city across the world and because of the sub-tropical climate the water is warm all year round.

Day 6: Soweto (December 15th)

Kliptown Youth Centre - Jabulani Mall Food Lovers Market (10 miles)

The walk begins at KlipTown Youth Project, one of the supported charities, in Johannesburg's biggest township, Soweto. Dedicated to making a difference in their community, the charity provides educational support and after-school activities for the disadvantaged children of the township.

Day 7: Johannesburg (December 16th)

Fourways Food Lovers Market - The Maslow Hotel (14 miles)

Johannesburg is one of Africa's biggest cities and is the economic capital of Africa. The vibrant city, which still openly bears the scars of the Apartheid past, increasingly shows what is possible in the new South Africa. The area has spawned many political, sporting and social luminaries, including Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Former South Africa fast bowler Makhaya Ntini joins the walk in the city which will host the third Test of the upcoming series against England. The visitors lost heavily on their last trip, an innings-and-74-run defeat. The Waitrose Foundation is the featured charity on day seven. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the foundation aims to improve the lives of farm workers and their families in the communities that supply products to the Waitrose supermarket in the UK.

Day 7: Pretoria (December 17th)

Gateway Plaza - Church Square (19 miles)

Pretoria is one of the country's three capital cities, serving as the executive and de facto national capital and home to beautiful Jacaranda Trees, the Union Buildings, museums, embassies and the country's most successful rugby franchise, The Blue Bulls.
