Mike Atherton talks 'headbutts', humorous press conferences and how England would love some sideways movement in the second Ashes Test in Adelaide

"There was a comic moment in the press conference, Cameron Bancroft certainly reveled in his moment in the sun!"

So says Michael Atherton after Australia opener Bancroft, fresh from easing the Baggy Greens to a 10-wicket victory over England in the Ashes opener in Brisbane alongside David Warner, addressed the assembled press corps.

Bancroft told the media exactly what had transpired between him and Jonny Bairstow in Perth last month, with the alleged 'headbutt' from the England nothing more than a "weird" greeting.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Michael added: "It's difficult to see where England can go in Adelaide - they can't make too many changes.

"They have to say to themselves that they competed for two and a half days [in Brisbane] and the difference between the sides was Steve Smith.

"If they can put the little things right like converting fifties to hundreds and get Smith and David Warner out cheaply, they have every chance."
