Amir Khan believes Kell Brook will fail in his quest to become the first man to defeat Gennady Golovkin and insists he is ready to face his British rival in a domestic showdown.

Brook (36-0-KO25), the reigning IBF welterweight champion, will put his own undefeated record on the line when he challenges WBA 'Super', IBF and WBC middleweight champion Golovkin (35-0-KO32) at the O2 Arena on September 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The 30-year-old Sheffield-born fighter has insisted the clash is a gamble that can lead him on the road to boxing greatness and is undeterred by the challenge of moving up two weight classes to face Golovkin, who is widely considered as one of the best fighters in the world.

Talks over a proposed domestic bout between long-time rivals Khan (31-4 KO19) and Brook broke down earlier this year, with both camps withdrawing from negotiations after failing to reach an agreement.

Khan insisted Brook was not in his plans following his devastating knockout defeat to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in May, but the 29-year-old has now admitted he would be willing to meet his rival and believes the fight will be made.

"I have to give him props for taking the fight [against Golovkin]. It's a very hard fight so I give him a lot of credit. He can win... well actually, no, I don't think he can," Khan told the Dubai Press.

"Certainly I still think a fight between myself and Kell will happen because he has proven himself now by being willing to step into the ring with Golovkin.

"I still don't like him, in fact I hate him. But the UK public want to see that fight and it is a fight I want to give them."
