WBA Super world featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz wants to face the winner of Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg.
The 27-year-old Mexican defends his crown against Kiko Martinez - a Spaniard beaten by both Frampton and Quigg - in California on the same night the British pair meet in a Sky Sports Box Office super-bantamweight unification bout.
Despite being earmarked by IBF world featherweight champion Lee Selby as his ideal summer opponent, Santa Cruz (31-0-1-KO17) is more interested in dropping back down in weight to face the winner of Frampton v Quigg.
If I get through my fight, God willing, if everything goes good and we get the win, my plan was to call out the winner of Frampton and Quigg.
When asked of his interest in that bout, the former WBC super-bantamweight king told behindthegloves.com: "Of course. That was my plan. It's what I was saying in my mind.
"If I get through my fight, God willing, if everything goes good and we get the win, my plan was to call out the winner of Frampton and Quigg.
"Hopefully, I can do good and I get the winner of that. It's truly a 50-50 fight and could go either way. I think whoever catches who first will win, because they both hit. I don't think it will go the distance."
Looking ahead to facing Martinez, he added: "I didn't pick that. I don't pick who to fight. I just go in the gym and get ready. Three weeks ago, they called me when I was in the gym and asked if I'd be ready for February. I said I was ready and willing.
"I've seen him fight. I saw him against the Colombian fighter and he's a great fighter. He comes on strong, puts pressure on, strong and a lot of knockouts. We like the challenge - it's more interesting for the fans.
"I'm going to box him. Boxing him from a distance, that's how to beat him easily. If you stay there then he has the advantage because he's shorter. Boxing him is easier. I like to go forward. We'll make it a war."
