It’s three years since Gavin Rees and Gary Buckland went to war in Wales for the first time, have a look back at the highlights

This week's Ringside Rewind takes you back three years to a wonderful all-Welsh war between Gavin Rees and Gary Buckland.

The two lightweights lived 20 miles apart and were friends, but got close and personal in a Cardiff cracker that will live long in the memory.

Rees had been a world, European and British champion, Buckland had won the British, but with both coming towards the end of the careers there was little to choose between them.

Round after round they traded shots before a typically tumultuous 12th saw them put everything, including their friendship, on the line, live on Sky Sports.

We won't give the result away but it went to the cards and one of the Welsh wonders was given the decision.

But more importantly Reed and Buckland became friends again... at least until the rematch that was to follow three months later.
