Anthony Crolla says there is a "good chance" of a future domestic clash with Luke Campbell and expects an announcement on his next fight this week.
The Mancunian put his career firmly back on track with a points win over Ricky Burns in October and would welcome another British battle against Luke Campbell.
Both lightweights suffered creditable defeats to Jorge Linares, with Campbell enduring a split decision loss to the Venezuelan last September, and Crolla admits there is constant speculation about a fight with the Hull man.
Speaking at the launch of 'Ultimate Boxxer', Crolla said: "It would be a big domestic battle. Luke, I really rate highly. Obviously he did himself proud against Jorge, he gave Jorge a decent fight, but yeah there's always talk of it.
"At the Arena, Hull, wherever we would go I'm sure we would put on a great fight for the fans. Our styles would gel really well, and I'm sure there's a good chance of that happening."
Crolla failed to regain his WBA belt in his second points defeat to Linares last March, but hopes to receive another world title shot this year.
"I'm in training now, I'm hoping for an announcement this week," he said. "I met Eddie [Hearn] the other day in Liverpool and we're happy where we're going.
"Obviously the overall plan is to get a world title this summer, but obviously I'll be out before then. In the next few days, I expect an announcement."
