Chris Eubank Jr and George Groves have hit out at James DeGale after he lost his world title on Saturday night.

DeGale was the hot favourite to successfully defend his IBF super-middleweight belt when he took on American Caleb Truax at the Copper Box on Saturday night.

But former Olympic champion DeGale, who was returning after a serious shoulder injury, was beaten on a majority decision, throwing his plans for the future into doubt.

The 32-year-old had been keen to set up fights against his fellow British super-middleweights but those hopes now appear to be in tatters.

And, having exchanged harsh words with DeGale in the past, Groves and Eubank were not in the mood to let his defeat pass without comment.

Groves, who beat DeGale on points back in 2011 tweeted soon after the bout: "Call it a day, mate, you ain't got it no more."

And Eubank Jr wrote: "After all the trash talk and disrespectful comments James DeGale you go and put on a display like that!

Meanwhile, DeGale says he possibly returned to the ring too quickly after the injury and will now seek a rematch against Truax.
