Former world heavyweight title contender Dereck Chisora is a fighter reborn, according to his trainer Don Charles.
'Del Boy' is back in action on Saturday - fighting Marios Kollias on a packed Battle on The Mersey card live on Sky Sports from the Liverpool Echo Arena - ahead of his crack at the European title against Agit Kabayel in Monaco on November 4.
Chisora parted ways with long-time trainer and mentor Charles in 2015 only to link up with him again 18 months later ahead of a contentious split-decision loss to Dillian Whyte last December.
"Dereck has got his mojo back and he is absolutely on fire in the gym," Charles told Sky Sports.
"We parted for around 18 months and Dillian Whyte was our first fight together after our break.
"Dereck and I regrouped. I reminded him of his roots, how he had been successful and why he had been successful. We have retraced his steps, going right the way back to his runs and his old lifestyle to restore him back to what he was once upon a time."
The Finchley fighter's toe-to-toe thriller with Whyte was one of the fights of the year in 2016 and has led to plenty of calls for a rematch.
Charles admits there is unfinished business between Chisora and Whyte and hopes a potential rematch between the pair in the future will see a version of the world title on the line.
"In my opinion and most people's opinion Dillian Whyte did not win the fight with Dereck and I believe should he fight Dillian again in the near future it will be conclusive in our favour," Charles said.
"There is most definitely unfinished business there.
"On one hand I don't blame Dillian for not wanting to fight Dereck now because he is highly ranked by every governing body, so he obviously wants a crack at one of the world titles, and why not? If I was in his position I'd probably do the same.
"But a fight against Chisora will make him a lot of money, and if he gets beat - which he will - he can then have a rematch. The only world champion Dillian has a chance against is Joseph Parker. Sometimes I wake up and think I hope he does fight for and win a world title, because then we can take it off him."
