Luke Campbell does not believe for "one second" that Jorge Linares will defeat him and his next fight could be on the same bill as the WBA champion.
The 29-year-old lightweight edged closer to a fight with Linares after stopping Darleys Perez in a WBC eliminator on the undercard of Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in April.
Linares is expected to make the next defence of his belt in September and Campbell has revealed that negotiations have been held about him appearing on the undercard.
"Yeah, that's the plan. That's what we are looking at, at the minute," Campbell told Sky Sports. "Nothing has been confirmed yet, just still in talks with the team and see what we're going to do."
Campbell is full of respect for the Venezuelan, a three-weight world champion who has defeated Kevin Mitchell and Anthony Crolla on past trips to Britain.
But the Olympic gold medallist is supremely confident that he would topple one of the sport's elite fighters.
He's a great fighter, but I do not believe for one second that he will beat me.
"For me to win a world title, I'm not going to get any better than taking it from a great champion like that," said Campbell. "He's a great fighter, he's got a lot of experience, and he's beaten two of our top guys.
"I think I would put him in the top 10 pound-for-pound at the minute. He's a great fighter, but I do not believe for one second that he will beat me."
Campbell has proven his dedication by travelling to Miami to prepare for fights with trainer Jorge Rubio and would not be concerned about challenging for a world title on US soil.
"For me, I would love to win the world title in Britain, but if it happens to be away and I've got to go over the pond to take it from someone - that's what I'll do," said the Hull man.
"I'm loving what I do. I'm training with Jorge Rubio, we've got a fantastic relationship together, and we're working really well."
