Errol Spence Jr sent a warning to IBF champion Kell Brook ahead of world title fight

Errol Spence Jr has vowed to "jump on" Kell Brook if the IBF welterweight champion shows any signs of weakness in their world title fight.

The American will travel to Britain to challenge Brook in late May or early June and Sheffield United's Bramall Lane Stadium is the preferred venue for the bout.

Spence Jr was confirmed as mandatory challenger after racking up 21 victories, with 18 knockouts, and promised to show his ruthless instinct as Brook fights for the first time since sustaining a broken eye socket in a stoppage defeat to Gennady Golovkin.

"It's not something I just go for," Spence Jr told Behind The Gloves. "We just wait on it and if it happens, or he shows me something that he's hurt, I'm going to jump on him and stop him."

The 27-year-old believes Brook will be "favoured" as the hometown fighter, but is still confident he can capture the Sheffield man's IBF belt with a convincing victory.

"He's definitely going to be favoured, because it's in the UK, but I don't feel the need to have to go there and stop him," said Spence Jr.

"I'm not going to put that pressure on myself. That's when it don't happen, or you look sloppy, and end up losing some other way.
