Deontay Wilder has been forced to find a new opponent for the next defence of his WBC heavyweight title after Andrzej Wawrzyk failed a drug test.
The American had been due to face the Polish fighter in Alabama on February 25, but WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has announced that Wawrzyk tested positive for an anabolic steroid.
Sulaiman tweeted: "WBC confirms that Andrzej Wawrzyk has tested positive anabolic steroid 'Stanozolol Metabolites'.
"The fight was contracted for out of competition surprise testing and this is how tragedies are prevented.
"There is no other way but Clean Boxing! Protect our boxers! Stand tall with VADA testing."
WBO champion Joseph Parker already appears to have put himself forward as a replacement opponent by tweeting a raised hand in response to the news.
