The Mayor of London wants to see Kell Brook and Amir Khan fight at Wembley Stadium.
Sadiq Khan was guest of honour at the Boxing Writers' Club annual dinner at The Savoy and underlined the value that the sport can bring to the capital.
Brook is recovering from the injury he suffered when he lost to Gennady Golovkin at The O2 in September, while Khan will not box for the rest of the year after revealing he has fought with a broken right hand for the last 13 years.
The two Brits are bitter rivals and Sadiq Khan believes London will be the biggest and best neutral territory for them to finally sort out their differences in the ring.
"London was the perfect host for the unmissable fight between the undisputed pound-for-pound king in Gennady Golovkin and our very own Kell Brook," he said.
"Both for our city, and the thousands of boxing fans in London, staging the best fights is something we could all get used to.
London is open to the best talent in the world and that is why I am keen to see another super-fight in the capital and what better one to start with than arch rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook both in the ring at Wembley Stadium?
"I want to see the biggest sporting and cultural events staged here in London because we not only have world-class venues to stage top-class boxing, but we also have the globe's best fight fans.

The rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves was the last fight to take place at the national stadium, pulling in over 80,000 fans in May 2014, while IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is expected to box at Wembley Stadium next summer.
