Floyd Mayweather has confirmed that he has added the United States’ Olympian Shakur Stevenson to his stable of fighters.
The retired ring legend, now a promoter of 'The Money Team', has been in Rio de Janeiro scouting for boxing talent at the Olympic Games.
It seems he has now snapped up Stevenson, a 19-year-old bantamweight who fights in the semi-finals on Thursday against Vladimir Nikitin (the Russian who controversially eliminated Ireland's Michael Conlan).
Mayweather posted on Twitter: "I came all the way to Brazil to support the athletes of the United States, but while enjoying the events I had one goal in mind and that was to extend a warm welcome to Shakur Stevenson into The Money Team family. Mayweather Promotions connecting true future stars worldwide!"
There has been no confirmation from Stevenson's representatives yet.
