Tyrone Nurse says that his size will be key against Tommy Coyle

Tyrone Nurse (l): defends his British title against Tommy Coyle

Super-lightweight Tyrone Nurse is ready to make his size count when he faces Tommy Coyle in Leeds on Saturday night.

Huddersfield's Nurse (33-2-1-KO7) will be making the second defence of his British title, having most recently stopped Scottish veteran Willie Limond in the ninth round of their May contest.

The 26-year-old will now face Coyle (22-3-KO10) - his old amateur foe - who will be having his second fight since moving up to the 140lb super-lightweight limit and Nurse believes the size difference will be a deciding factor on an exciting night of British boxing on Sky Sports.

Nurse told Sky Sports in an exclusive interview: "I'm big at the weight as it is and used to fighting kids smaller than me, so I am ready for the challenge Coyle brings.

"He's moving up and says that he feels better and stronger because he's not struggling to make the lightweight limit, but we won't know what he will really be like until fight night.

"Of course he is a threat and is never going to quit, and he will be shorter and quicker than me. He will always put it on his opponent and I can't see him doing anything else.

"His jab is going to be half the length of mine, so he's going to have to come in close and get on my chest. At the same time, I'm comfortable there anyway - I can sit on the ropes all night and pick shots off. I'm deceptively good on the inside for someone my size and stature.

Nurse is confident that another convincing victory could lead to several exciting fights in the future.

He added: "It's a great division to be involved in right now and there are plenty of options.

"I'd love the chance to avenge my Dave Ryan loss, I'm a different fighter to when we last fought and I'm very confident I would be too good for him this time round.

"With that, Jack Catterall is mandatory for my British title and I would love to win the belt outright. Of course if bigger opportunities come along, such as European or world honours then I would have to take my chance."
