Tyron Zeuge has received positive news on his shoulder injury and wants a second shot at world champion Giovanni De Carolis.
The young German (18-0-1-KO10) was controversially awarded a majority draw after 12 entertaining rounds against Italy's WBA super-middleweight king and appeared to sustain a shoulder problem midway through the fight.
Zeuge has since learned that the injury is nothing more than a minor muscle tear and said: "Instead of a summer vacation, I'm now looking forward to getting back in the gym as soon as possible.
''I will leave nothing to chance and will make sure I'm in top shape for the rematch with Giovanni.''
The 24-year-old is trained by light-heavyweight world champion Juergen Braehmer, who added: "I was impressed by Tyron's performance on Saturday night.
"He implemented our game plan well and showed great promise. We will now continue on this path and return even stronger."
After holding on to his belt in Germany, De Carolis (24-6-1-KO12) was enthusiastic over the possibility of clashing with Zeuge again.
The Italian said in his post-fight interview: "That was a great fight and I am ready for the rematch."
De Carolis won the belt in January when he upset Zeuge's compatriot Vincent Feigenbutz with an 11th-round stoppage.
