"Golovkin is 35-0 and Brook is 36-0... that's 71 and 0," said Hearn. "Something has to give and we are looking forward to a super contest at The O2 in September."

Promoter Eddie Hearn also said he simply ran out of patience trying to get Chris Eubank Jr v Gennady Golovkin "over the line".

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ the promoter revealed a deal to get the duo in the ring "became more painful" before IBF world welterweight champion Brook jumped at the chance to take on one of the sport's pound-for-pound kings.
