Conor McGregor is only interested in a lucrative cross-code clash with Floyd Mayweather if the money is evenly split, says his trainer.

The UFC star has long been linked with a clash with currently-retired boxing legend Mayweather (49-0-KO26), who officially brought the curtain down on his career in September 2015 with a points win over Andre Berto.

Although UFC president Dana White recently stated that no member of Team Mayweather had been in touch over arranging the bout, 'Money' has named McGregor as "the only fight" he would consider returning for.

He [Mayweather] has figured out boxing, but Conor doesn't move like a boxer.

If negotiations ever advance, McGregor's head trainer John Kavanagh has warned that the Irishman will not be prepared for anything less than 50-50.

In an article reported in the Business Post in Ireland, Kavanagh said: "There was talk that Conor would get $7m and Floyd would get the rest of it. It will be an even share or Conor will not do it. There is nobody generating the type of media that Conor is.

"It would have to be an even split. Conor is not going to take it if Floyd is getting more than him. Floyd needs Conor more than Conor needs Floyd right now.

"Floyd is amazing. He is incredible. I don't think there is a boxer who could beat him. He has figured out boxing, but Conor doesn't move like a boxer."
