Hughie Fury will not be fighting Dillian Whyte for the British heavyweight title, according to his father and trainer Peter.
The British Boxing Board of Control this week ordered the pair to meet for the Lonsdale Belt vacated by Anthony Joshua following his IBF world title win.
But Peter Fury says his unbeaten son will pursue other avenues, leaving Whyte seeking a new opponent for a second crack at the title he failed to win when he was stopped by Joshua in December.
"Dillian Whyte can go for British titles," Fury Snr tweeted. "Hughie Fury will step aside. Good luck champ.
"My reasons are clear to those who count. Sorry if I don't go into details with our reasons.
"British title top belt to have. Let's not forget, though - Hughie ranked 14 and about to be ranked much higher with WBO. We're happy as we are!"
Whyte responded to Fury's tweets, saying: "No problem big Peter Fury. Hope Hughie gets well soon. Who wants to fight me for the British title? David Price? Dereck Chisora? Let's get it on."
Another name in the frame is David Allen, who is due to fight an eliminator against Sam Sexton but would take the Whyte fight straight away.
"I'll happily fight anyone in Britain for the British title. It doesn't matter who it is," he told Sky Sports.
