Martin Murray ready for 'make-or-break' fight with George Groves

George Groves will take on Martin Murray on June 25

Martin Murray admits he will be fighting for his career when he takes on domestic rival George Groves on June 25.

The 33-year-old (32-3-1 KO15) is currently preparing to fight on the undercard of Anthony Crolla v Ismael Barroso at Manchester Arena on May 7, live on Sky Sports 2 HD from 7.30pm.

Murray, if all being well, will then meet Groves (23-3-0 KO18) in an eliminator for the WBA world super-middleweight title at the O2 Arena, with the winner going on to face Italian Giovanni De Carolis.

Having failed to win a world title on four previous occasions, Murray accepts a defeat against Groves could spell the end for him.

"It is a make or break fight, it's as simple as that," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "With the fight being an eliminator for the WBA world title, then obviously the winner is going to go on to another world title fight, whereas the loser it could be the end of the road.
