David Haye has urged Anthony Joshua to knock out Charles Martin early - so they can get it on next.
The former WBA world heavyweight champion was responding to a Sky Sports News HQ interview on Monday, in which Joshua had no problem calling him out.
Haye posted his response on Facebook and made it clear a fight between the two Londoners will happen, but warned the IBF challenger that his best bet is to attempt an early knockout against Martin rather than trying to out-box him.
"Get this one out of the way early," said Haye. "I heard you do an interview saying you are going to box him - don't do that, please, for me. Please don't.
"If you get into a boxing match with a southpaw boxer he's got more experience than you in boxing like that. You've got more experience in punching peoples heads in and knocking them out.
"That's what you've got to stick to. Don't try and learn something different for this one, just get in there and rough him up early, just get him off his game and blast him out early.
"You can do it mate, you big old lump. You can do it, I am behind you, the whole of Britain is behind you. Get this IBF title then we can make it happen."
Haye's response was posted while he and trainer Shane McGuigan were getting ready to train ahead of his next fight, at the O2 Arena, on May 21.
The 35-year-old hinted he has some news on an upcoming opponent, but even he cannot wait for Joshua's bout with Martin, where he will be part of the Sky Sports Box Office ringside team.
"Good to know Anthony Joshua is kind of calling me out," Haye added.
"It's all about him fighting Charles Martin on April 9. It's going to be a great fight. I'm looking forward to it, its on Sky Sports Box Office, so tune in then, afterwards, who knows?"
Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua for the IBF world heavyweight title is live and exclusive on Sky Sports Box Office on April 9.
