Deontay Wilder, one of boxing's most charismatic fighters, is back on Sky Sports

Deontay Wilder's latest world heavyweight title defence will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The WBC champion has already been linked with a fight with Anthony Joshua but first has to get past Poland's Artur Szpilka (20-1-KO15) as part of a heavyweight double-header on Saturday, January 16.

Wilder will top the bill but the vacant IBF title - that was taken away from Tyson Fury last month - is also on the line, with another unbeaten American Charles Martin (22-0-1-KO20) taking on Vyacheslav Glazkov (21-0-1-KO13).

It is the latest heavyweight show live on Sky Sports, coming from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and starts the new year of big-time boxing,

Joshua has said he is in no rush to challenge for the heavyweight world title but could well be in line for a shot at the IBF crown in the next 12 months.

Joshua is ranked fifth by the governing body, but with Erkan Teper ineligible to fight due to his two-year suspension, it could leave the British heavyweight hope the mandatory challenger once unbeaten Martin or Glazkov becomes champion.

Once I knock Szpilka out, I want all the Polish fans to come on the 'Bronze Bomber' train as I bring the heavyweight division back to the top.

But all eyes on Saturday week will be on Wilder, the man who has been linked with a unification showdown with Fury if he comes through his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko and has promised to become the world's leading heavyweight.
