WBC world super-middleweight champion Badou Jack would welcome the chance to face James DeGale in a unification bout.

Jack made the first defence of the title he won from Anthony Dirrell by outpointing George Groves on September 12 and is now hoping to move on to face IBF champion DeGale, who suffered the only defeat of his career to Groves.

It's going to happen next year, for sure. I'd prefer to fight DeGale to Julio Chaves Jr because he's got the belt. I think he's a better fighter than Chaves Jr.

Jack told behindthegloves.com: "It's going to happen next year, for sure. I'd prefer to fight DeGale to Julio Chavez Jr because he's got the belt. I think he's a better fighter than Chavez Jr."

On the possibility of travelling to Britain for the clash, Jack added: "If the money's right, why not? Right now we're focused on Las Vegas and doing it here in America. We can start with Chavez Jr but I heard he's not ready yet. We'll see.

"He's a very tough guy who comes to fight but DeGale is a better fighter. I'm training now and I should be back in the ring around February. I'm waiting for Floyd [Mayweather] to tell me who I'm fighting."
