Anthony Joshua's first IBF title defence could be held at Wembley on the same night as Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko, says promoter Eddie Hearn.

Here are the 12 world champions from Great Britain and Ireland, though Stephen Smith has not yet managed to join them...

Heavyweight sensation Anthony Joshua is the latest to add his name to the list after his emphatic dethroning of Charles Martin.

From the freshest, AJ, to the longest-standing Jamie McDonnell, here is the delightful dozen...

Anthony Joshua

Title: IBF heavyweight

Won it: April 9, 2016 - beat Charles Martin

Defences: None

Age: 26

Also See:

Record: 16-0-KO16

What next: A first defence in the summer. Joshua wowed the boxing world with a clinical early stoppage of Martin and is now seen as one of the most lucrative propositions in the sport. Social media wars with divisional kingpin Tyson Fury will have enhanced his profile further, but before any unification bout could be a clash with another domestic rival, David Haye.

Billy Joe Saunders

Title: WBO middleweight

Won it: December 19, 2015 - beat Andy Lee

Defences: None

Age: 26

Record: 23-0-KO12

What next: Recovery. The Hatfield southpaw was due to make his maiden defence against Max Bursak on April 30 only to suffer a hand injury that forced him to withdraw. Whether Bursak (32-4-1-KO15) ends up challenging Saunders on his return remains to be seen, because the champion has made no secret of his desire to face the division's big boys such as Gennady Golovkin. There's also - inevitably - continuing talk of a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.

Tyson Fury

Title: WBA Super, WBO and IBO

Won it: November 28, 2015 - beat Wladimir Klitscko

Defences: None

Age: 27

Record: 25-0-KO18

What effect will Fury's shock victory have

What next: The rematch. After lengthy negotiations, Fury and Klitschko have finally agreed on a return clash at the Manchester Arena on July 9. Fury has revelled in world champion status and is confident of reiterating his superiority over the ageing Ukrainian, who will surely head for Lancashire looking for a knockout. There's also the ongoing social war with newly-crowned IBF world champion Anthony Joshua to keep him occupied.

Lee Haskins

Title: IBF bantamweight

Won it: November 21, 2015 - promoted after Randy Caballero failed to make weight

Defences: None

Age: 32

Record: 32-3-3-KO14

What next: A first world-title fight and a defence - at the same time. The Bristol Playboy earned a shot against champion Caballero on the Alvarez-Cotto classic in Las Vegas only to see the then-champion missing the weight by a whopping five-and-a-half pounds. Manager Jamie Sanigar went straight to the IBF and as the interim champion, Haskins was promoted as champion. He is now scheduled to finally make a defence on May 14 against Ivan Morales.

Anthony Crolla

Anthony Crolla

Title: WBA lightweight

Won it: November 21, 2015 - beat Darleys Perez

Defences: None

Age: 29

Record: 30-4-3-KO12

What next: A maiden defence of his crown. In December 2015, Ismael Barroso ended the career of Kevin Mitchell with a ruthless fifth-round stoppage and became mandatory challenger in the process. Crolla - sat ringside that night - insisted he would not attempt to swerve the heavy-handed Venezuelan, and he'll return to the scene of his glorious victory over Perez to face him on May 7.

Liam Smith

Title: WBO super-welterweight

Won it: October 10, 2015 - beat John Thompson

Defences: 1

Age: 27

Record: 22-0-1-KO12

What next: A second defence, although an opponent is yet to be announced. Smith will fight in front of his home fans in Liverpool on June 4 and is looking to make a statement to the division. During a recent press conference, he also opened up the possibility of welcoming Kell Brook up to super-welterweight with a world title shot. Smith, of course, is regularly ringside to watch his brothers Paul, Stephen and Callum fight.

Terry Flanagan

Title: WBO lightweight

Won it: July 11, 2015 - beat Jose Zepeda

Defences: 2

Age: 26

Record: 30-0-KO12

What next: A short rest is likely. Flanagan has already made two defences since that unsatisfying victory over Zepeda; he blasted out Diego Magdaleno inside two rounds and then ground down Liverpool's Derry Mathews over 12 rounds in March. Unification bouts are looming and both he and Crolla have already expressed an interest in facing each other, despite political difficulties.

Lee Selby

Lee Selby (Lawrence Lustig)

Title: IBF featherweight

Won it: May 30, 2015 - beat Evgeny Gradovich

Defences: 2

Age: 29

Record: 23-1-KO8

What next: A break. The 'Welsh Mayweather' followed up his victory over Fernando Montiel with an entertaining points win over Eric Hunter at The O2 on the Martin v Joshua undercard. Knocked down for the first time in his career early on, Selby was forced to dig deep against the American. Through a mixture of grit and skill, Selby was able to secure a wide-margin success over Hunter and continued to mention the likes of Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton.

James DeGale

James DeGale celebrates his win over Andre Dirrel'

Title: IBF super-middleweight

Won it: May 23, 2015 - beat Andre Dirrell

Defences: 1

Age: 30

Record: 22-1-KO14.

What next: A return to America to make the second defence of the title. DeGale will take on mandatory challenger Rogelio Medina in Washington on April 30 and is fully expected to come through that before chasing WBC super-middleweight champion Badou Jack for a unification fight. Domestic rivals George Groves, Callum Smith and Martin Murray may also be appearing on his horizon soon.

Carl Frampton

Carl Frampton
Image: Carl Frampton is the IBF super-bantamweight boss from Belfast

Title: IBF super-bantamweight

Won it: September 6, 2014 - beat Kiko Martinez

Defences: 3

Age: 29

Record: 22-0-KO14

What next: There's a possibility he'll step up a division. Frampton added the WBA belt to his collection by beating Quigg in February but was quickly stripped of the trinket for failing to agree a clash with the governing body's 'champion in recess' Guillermo Rigondeaux. The Northern Irishman claims he still does the weight easily but may soon be tempted by more lucrative options up at featherweight.

Kell Brook

Frankie Gavin Kell Brook

Title: IBF welterweight

Won it: August 16, 2014 - beat Shawn Porter

Defences: 3

Age: 29

Record: 36-0-KO25

What next: A big fight this summer, hopefully. Brook has bent over backwards time and time again in a bid to face Amir Khan only for the Bolton fighter to book a tilt at WBC middleweight champion Saul Alvarez. In the meanwhile, Brook has swiftly dispatched another mandatory in Kevin Bizier, but both fighter and promoter Eddie Hearn know names as big as Porter and Keith Thurman are required next up.

Jamie McDonnell

Title: WBA bantamweight

Won it: May 31, 2014 - beat Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat

Defences: 4

Age: 30

Record: 28-2-1-KO13

What next: A unification bout or a step up to super-bantamweight. In the wake of his latest defence - a ninth-round stoppage of Fernand Vargas - McDonnell claimed to be the best bantamweight in the world. Juan Carlos Payano may wish to contest the claim, but Doncaster's world champion has other options on the table if he steps up a division to take on the likes of Scott Quigg.
