Martin Murray says his fight with Arthur Abraham will go ahead in Hannover

Arthur Abraham will defend his WBO super-middleweight title against Martin Murray in Hannover on Saturday night, despite a security alert in the city.

Germany's friendly football match against Netherlands - scheduled to take place at Hannover's HDI Arena on Tuesday - was called off after the German interior minister revealed a "concrete terrorist threat."

With tensions high following Friday's terrorist atrocities in Paris, questions were immediately raised over whether the alert would result in the cancellation of the world title fight at the city's TUI Arena.

But Murray confirmed the bout would go ahead as planned and said there was no sense of alarm in the city.

The security will be bumped up so fans coming over can be assured that the security will be tight.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "The security will be bumped up so fans coming over can be assured that the security will be tight.

"We've been walking down the town centre and we've not felt any signs of anxiety. Everything's been normal. From our point of view, there's nothing to worry about."

The fight co-headlines a bumper evening of live Sky Sports boxing, with Anthony Crolla challenging WBA lightweight champion Darleys Perez for a second time in Manchester.
