Billy Joe Saunders has dismissed Chris Eubank Jr's chances of becoming a world champion.

Live Fight Night

Saunders (22-0-KO12) edged a points decision over the current WBA interim middleweight champion in November 2014 - a fight Eubank Jr insists he won - and has laughed off his former opponent's claims of being the man to dethrone divisional kingpin Gennady Golovkin.

With Saunders scheduled to challenge WBO champion Andy Lee on December 19, the 26-year-old has verbally renewed his rivalry with Eubank Jr (19-1-KO15), who makes his Sky Sports debut against Tony Jeter on Saturday.

Eubank Jr is not a world-class fighter and will not be a world champion - never, ever. The belt he holds at the minute isn't a world title.

Saunders told World Boxing News: "Eubank Jr is not a world-class fighter and will not be a world champion - never, ever. The belt he holds at the minute isn't a world title and unless he fights a complete and utter bum, he will never get one.

"For him to say he's up there with Golovkin is laughable and embarrassing. 'GGG' would stop him in 30 seconds.

"Him and his father fraud people into buying how good he is, but you can't lie in boxing - eventually he will get found out again. He's fighting Tony Jeter next and I've never heard of him, he's just another journeyman who Eubank will probably look good stopping.

"Eubank Jr is a British level fighter at best. He's tough and will have a go, but someone who's clever and can box will bust him up easily.

"People say the fight with me was close, but people don't realise I only trained for the weigh-in of that fight. I was sure he was going to pull out. I was still in great shape, but just wasn't there mentally.

"The old man reckoned his son would beat me, but I handed Jnr. back to him beaten and broken and now he's got to fight the man that I also beat, Spike O'Sullivan, to try and rebuild his career."

Saunders was last in action in July when he stopped journeyman Yoann Bloyer in the fourth round. His fight with Lee has since been rescheduled twice - firstly due to the champion picking up a virus and then for a cut sustained by the challenger.

Eubank Jr stated earlier in the week he hopes to one day avenge his defeat to Saunders.
