Carl Froch believes Conor McGregor will do well to even "get near" Floyd Mayweather when the two meet in the ring next month.
The Sky Sports pundit and former super-middleweight world champion is refusing to give the UFC champion a chance of handing Mayweather a first defeat in 50 professional fights.
Froch made it clear that their Las Vegas showdown on August 26 is not just a pantomime and is looking forward to watching it, but is adamant McGregor will do well to even hit the unbeaten star.

"It's going to be very, very difficult for McGregor to do anything that has any impact on Floyd Mayweather," Froch told Sky Sports News HQ at Wimbledon.
"But Mayweather has been out of the ring for a couple of years now, so you just never know.
"The big question marks are there but it's [boxing] an entertainment business - as is mixed martial arts - and both of them are top entertainers, so people will be tuning into watch it. I know I will. I am looking forward to it.

Mayweather and McGregor will embark on a promotional tour this week, starting off in Los Angeles on Tuesday, then going face-to-face in Toronto and Wednesday and New York on Thursday, before crossing the Atlantic to finish it at SSE Wembley Arena on Friday evening.
