Kal Yafai's had to be the performance of the night.

There were plenty on display but he won every single round, against a world champion, in his first world title fight.

Kal stepped up and absolutely delivered. He didn't shock me how good he was but he did surprise me how dominant he was against Luis Concepcion.

Kal Yafai v Luis Concepcion

We knew it was going to be a step up in class, but it showed us just where Kal is now. He had such a good amateur pedigree but didn't do anything in Beijing and missed out on London 2012, so I am sure there were some people doubting him.

I wonder if he was tired by the amateurs and as soon as he turned pro just over four years ago, he might just have been re-invigorated and re-motivated.

Kal Yafai looked like the world champion, not the challenger. He was brilliant and he is only going to get better.
Kal Yafai

Yes he has breezed through the pros so far but don't forget, Concepcion was a big, big step up. I said last week I thought Kal would somehow get through this, suffer a few shaky moments, yet still find a way.

Kal Yavai v Luis Concepcion

And he didn't just beat Concepcion and give Birmingham a world champion, he out-boxed him, out-fought him, he beat him to the punch and landed so many more punches.

Kal Yafai looked like the world champion, not the challenger. He was brilliant and he is only going to get better.
