Lee Selby says his fight in Arizona was 'great learning experience'

IBF featherweight world champion Lee Selby says he thinks he has the beating of anybody he is put up against.

The Welshman is fresh from making a successful first defence of his title on Thursday night, when he won a unanimous points decision over Fernando Montiel of Mexico in Arizona.

Selby was not fully satisfied with his overall display but thinks he is sure to benefit from the experience of fighting in America.

And the 28-year-old says there is no one in the division who he would be worried about taking on in the future.

He told Sky Sports: "I did not box to the best of my ability but it was nice to get my American debut out the way and get the ball rolling out there.

"It was tough and I don't think my opponent got the credit he deserved going into the fight. He was a former three-weight world champion and has only had four losses in 60 fights, so it was a tough fight.

Josh Warrington felt his featherweight rival Lee Selby did not impress on his U.S debut.

"I did not perform to the best of my ability but I got the job done. I got the win and I am coming back home now with the belt.

"It was a great learning fight and a great learning experience for me and my team.

"I am not too sure who is next. I know the IBF have ordered a final eliminator, we will probably get the winner of that. It is between Eric Hunter and Jonathan Barros.

"I can keep winning, I am going to continue to improve. At my best, I believe I can beat anybody."
