Jericho's interference proved key, however, with Owens distracted by the entrance music of his former best friend, whom he savagely attacked on Raw last month, as the bell rung to start the match.

Goldberg pounced to nail the Canadian, Universal Champion since August, with a spear and a jackhammer to complete victory in just 22 seconds.

The Oklahoman is now set for another fight with Lesnar, the man he beat at WrestleMania XX in 2004 and in under two minutes at Survivor Series last November as well as eliminated from January's Royal Rumble.
