Amelie Mauresmo has been appointed as France's Davis Cup captain and will assume her new role next year.

The 38-year-old, who coached Andy Murray between 2014 and 2016, will succeed Yannick Noah, who led France to Davis Cup glory in 2017 - their first title in 16 years.

Mauresmo, a former world No 1, led France's Fed Cup team between 2013 and 2016.

France have also appointed a new Fed Cup captain, with Julien Benneteau to take over when he ends his playing career after the US Open in September.
