Highlights of Cameron Norrie v Nicolas Jarry from the first round of the Miami Open.

Cameron Norrie was unable to secure his maiden Masters 1000 main draw victory as he lost to Chile’s Nicolas Jarry 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 in the Miami Open first round.

The 22-year-old came through two rounds of qualifying in Florida to reach back-to-back Masters 1000 main draws but like at Indian Wells lost in his opening match.

Norrie, at a career-high world No 105, matched his opponent in the first set but after losing the first set on a tiebreak was unable to wrestle the match back in his favour.

The British player was bidding to join Australian Open semi-finalist Kyle Edmund in the second round but was broken twice by the world No 65 to fall to a one hour and twenty-two minute defeat.

Jarry, who reached the Rio Open semi-final last month before losing to Diego Schwartzman, will next face the diminutive Argentinean 13th seed in the second round.
