Cameron Norrie and Liam Broady progressed to the second round of qualifying at the Miami Open with convincing victories.

Norrie, world No 105, led 6-1 6-2 against Stefan Kozlov in Florida while Broady, the British No 5, proved too strong for Switzerland's Henri Laaksonen 6-2 6-4.

The 22-year-old Norrie, 10th seed in the qualifying draw, will next meet world No 729 American Patrick Kypson while Broady will face Filip Peliwo of Canada.

In the women's draw, there was mixed success for Britain as wildcard entrant Katie Boulter defeated American home favourite Taylor Townsend 7-6(7-1) 6-2 but Naomi Broady - sister of Liam - lost to France's Oceane Dodin 4-6 7-5 6-3.

Boulter will play Carol Zhao in a first meeting between the pair in the second round of qualifying at Crandon Park.
