Fernando Verdasco will face Diego Schwartzman in the final of the Rio Open on Sunday night - live on Sky Sports Arena.

Veteran Spaniard Verdasco defeated Italy's Fabio Fognini 6-1 7-5 in the semi-finals, while Schwartzman beat Nicolas Jarry 7-5 6-2 in the clay-court event at Jockey Club Brasileiro.

The results mean the tournament will have a new winner and give either Schwartzman or Verdasco their first ATP Tour title in more than a year.

The pair have met once before, with the Argentinian winning in Nice two years ago.

Meanwhile in Florida, the Delray Beach Open final will see wildcard Frances Tiafoe play Germany's Peter Gojowczyk.

Wildcard Tiafoe beat Denis Shapovalov 7-5 6-4, while Gojowczyk got the better of Steve Johnson 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 in the last four.

Home favourite Lucas Pouille will play Karen Khachanov in Sunday's Open 13 Provence final in Marseille after beating qualifier Ilya Ivashka.

Third-seed Pouille, world No 16, held his nerve in a close-fought second-set tie-break against the Belarusian to win his semi-final 6-3 7-6 (8-6) in one hour and 25 minutes.

The 24-year-old is bidding to become the eighth French winner of the tournament in 13 years.

Khachanov, 21, had earlier upset fourth-seed Tomas Berdych in straight sets, 6-3 6-2, to reach his second ATP World Tour final.

The 21-year-old Russian has maintained top form throughout the tournament, breaking Czech No 1 Berdych twice in the opening set and three times in the second.
