Johanna Konta is through to the third round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati after beating Kiki Bertens in straight sets.
The seventh seed advanced in straight sets 6-3 6-3 and looked in impressive form with both her forehand and backhand as she forced 10 break points, converting four of them.
Dutchwoman Bertens could only break Konta once in reply.
The British No 1 will now face Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, who was a 7-6 3-6 6-2 winner over Catherine Bellis.
Also comfortably through to the third round is Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza, who saw off Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-2 6-0.
Romania's Simona Halep also booked her place in the third round with a routine 6-4 6-1 victory over the USA's Taylor Townsend.
Earlier, ninth seed Venus Williams cruised into the second round, needing just 66 minutes to dispatch fellow American Alison Riske 6-2 6-0. Williams will next face Ashleigh Barty, who beat Varvara Lepchenko 6-4 6-4.
Aleksandra Krunic advanced with a 6-4 6-2 upset of 12th-seeded Jelena Ostapenko, while 10th-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska was knocked out by Julia Goerges 6-4 6-4.
