Brits Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund coasted through to the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in California, conceding a total of just six games en route to reaching the last 64.
While Evans trounced German Dustin Brown 6-1 6-1 in under an hour, Edmund eased past Gastao Elias 6-1 6-3 in 66 minutes.
Evans, the 26-year-old world No 41 from Birmingham, broke serve five times in all while winning 83 per cent of his first serve points, to set up a clash with world No 5 Kei Nishikori.
Edmund, meanwhile, will face the No 2 seed Novak Djokovic thanks to another dominant performance with the serve.
The world No 46 from Yorkshire conceded just four points from his opening six service games against his Portuguese opponent who was broken four times in all.
And world No 1 Andy Murray was also in action overnight - although not in singles.
The 29-year-old teamed-up with Davis Cup team-mate Evans to beat Spain's No 5 seeds Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez 6-3 1-6 10-6.
Murray will start his singles campaign on Saturday when he faces Canadian qualifier Vasek Pospisil.
