The leading players on the WTA Tour dodged showers for a pre-Wimbledon party on Thursday in Kensington.
Defending champion Serena Williams was joined by a host of big names at the Roof Gardens, where the atmosphere was not dimmed by heavy thunderstorms that had crossed London for much of the day.
Britain's leading players were also in attendance, with hopes high from Laura Robson and Heather Watson that they will have successful tournaments.
Robson has struggled with wrist injuries for more than a year, but feels encouraged by recent performances even if results have not been positive.
She said: "It's obviously difficult but I knew that when I started coming back. It's great to see the improvement in my own game from this time last year.
"I've played a lot more matches and got a lot more experience behind me so I am looking forward to it."
Watson was one of the stars of last year's tournament even though she only reached the third round, where she came close to defeating top seed Williams.
After wins over Caroline Garcia and Daniela Hantuchova, Watson took a set off Williams before going down 6-2 4-6 7-5, and she says that performance gives her confidence for 2016.
Watson: "I really thrive off Wimbledon and everything that comes with it. I don't mind the pressure and I feel like it brings out the best in me.
"Last year was an unbelievable experience and one of the most exciting matches I've ever played in against Serena. That excitement and the buzz around that match for me was awesome and I'd love to have that again, but hopefully come out on top."
The draw for the Ladies Singles takes place on Friday.
