New Zealand legend Ma’a Nonu has signed a one-year contract extension with Toulon, according to club president Mourad Boudjellal.

The former All Blacks centre joined Toulon in November 2015 and will now remain in the south of France until June 2018.

Nonu was capped 103 times for his country and joined Toulon after helping New Zealand to win a second successive World Cup in 2015.

He struggled in his first season in France after a gruelling back-to-back schedule of Super Rugby, Rugby Championship and the World Cup.
