Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac has hinted Wales wing George North will not be rejoining the region this summer.

North is leaving Northampton at the end of the season after signing a national dual contract with the Welsh Rugby Union, but has yet to announce which of the four teams he will play for.

The 25-year-old played for the Scarlets before moving to Saints in 2013 but Pivac looks to have ruled out a return.

"What I will say, we will announce a new signing very shortly," Pivac told Wales Online.

"We have signed a back-three player and we will only be signing one.

"We have not been informed of where George is going by anybody. I think everybody is still waiting but you can only wait so long and we have signed a player in the back three."

That player reported to be joining the Scarlets is full-back Clayton Blommetjies, who plays for Guinness PRO14 rivals the Cheetahs.
