Leo Cullen says Leinster need to look at their recruitment policy following the Irish province's 20-16 home defeat to Toulon in the Champions Cup.

The French kingpins came from 16-5 down to take victory in Dublin  after a powerful second-half showing.

Speaking after the game, Cullen expressed some frustration with the recruitment constraints his side faces.

Leo Cullen felt that Toulon's power eventually wore Leinster down after a good start in the Champions Cup

"We play by very different rules," he said. "What we are allowed bring in as against a team like Toulon, that's always a challenge.

"We are based primarily on growing our own young players. When you come up against seasoned internationals that have that much experience, it can be a challenge, even though some of our guys are playing at test match level themselves.

"So again we just need to be smart about how we go recruiting, yeah it's something that we probably need to look at but again we just need to focus on what in our immediate control.

"It can be frustrating because you are playing against a slightly different set of rules again that just the nature of the way it is and probably has been for a while as well so its certainly challenging but again we need to be creative about how we approach the competition going forward."
