Bernard Foley has dismissed any talk of Australia looking too far ahead after their impressive performance against Wales.
The Wallabies outclassed their opponents to claim a 32-8 victory in Cardiff on Saturday in their first autumn international, but fly-half Foley was quick to play down talk of going unbeaten in the 'Grand Slam tour'.
"That's where you fall over if you start looking ahead," he said. "It has been well documented, but as a side we are just focusing on trying to be better for next week."
The clean sweep has not been completed for 32 years and next up for Australia are Scotland, followed by a clash with Ireland and a trip to Twickenham to take on England on December 3.
"This team has been working tirelessly on our defensive systems, on making right decisions and on our shape," he said.
"The forwards are awesome. They set the platform and physicality, and that is something we have to continue in every game."
Australia have been on the wrong end of several high-profile matches in 2016 - finishing 17 points behind New Zealand in the Rugby Championship and suffering a 3-0 Test series whitewash at the hands of England.
Foley has taken positives from the heartache of losing to the All Blacks and England, but reiterated that they cannot look past any of their opponents."I think the resilience this team has shown, the character it has shown, and the test we have been put through this year, it is just hopefully setting the platform for future success," he said.
"As much as we look forward to that game [England on December 3], we can't get ahead of ourselves."
