Worcester have signed New Zealand lock Michael Fatialofa on a two-year contract from Super Rugby's Hurricanes.

The 25-year-old will move to Sixways later this year following the completion of the Mitre 10 Cup season with Auckland.

"I'm very excited about making the move to England and testing myself in the northern hemisphere competitions," said Fatialofa, who has represented New Zealand Schools and played for the Barbarians in 2016.

"The Hurricanes are an amazing club and I'm 100 per cent committed to giving everything I have to them this season, before arriving at Worcester and starting a new challenge."

Fatialofa won the Super Rugby title in his debut season with the Hurricanes in 2016, making 15 appearances, but he missed most of last year due to a knee injury.

He becomes Worcester's ninth signing for next season, joining the likes of Scotland flanker Cornell du Preez and Springboks centre Francois Venter at the Aviva Premiership club.

Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons said: "Michael is an absolutely outstanding player and it's massive for the club to bring him here to Sixways.
